Alan Fletcher FISME, Manufacturing Engineering Manager, gave a presentation on the business which was formerly a Rolls Royce company acquired by ITP Aero Ltd. They make components for  most of the world’s jet engine manufacturers. Following an almost complete lack of orders during the Pandemic they have seen a strong recovery with particular growth in small business jets. Components are made from pure titanium and its various alloys using a number of advanced manufacturing techniques to extremely tight tolerances. During the works tour we saw extremely complex components being produced by the highly skilled workforce. The ISME Members present were very grateful to Alan and ITP for the chance to see inside a world class manufacturer based in the UK.
